I keep saying that I’m going to finish this room or that project before I move on to that part of the house, but as it turns out, I just keep doing things in bits. No room feels finished as a result, which is quite annoying. But the upside is that I feel like we’re constantly a work in progress and I get to enjoy the thrill of the hunt so to speak. As I find something I love, I get it or implement it, and that’s not a good strategy but that’s how we’re doing it, so let’s go with it, right? As I’ve mentioned before, our living room is a big bright open space that I really love. In fact, it may be my favorite room in the house even though it gets used not at all. I am hoping to change that and do so in time for us to do some entertaining this year. I was going to wait a year to even touch the room and focus on other things, but then I found a coffee table I love and some elegant living room inspiration from some of my favorite Instagram follows — Caitlin Geier Fisher, Priss and Vinegar, and Social Dearest — and before I knew it, I was moving forward on our living room. I really want to prioritize a fence and countertops, but I guess this is all just going to be a huge expense we deal with and that’s just life? Idk. In any event, I’m sharing my elegant living room inspiration, because I’ve now ordered side tables and a coffee table and I’m getting really excited about where the space is headed.
We need curtains and new fixtures, art and more side tables and so much more but I am excited where the spaces is headed. I am not sure what you would call my style based on the mix below, and I’m not even sure which color palette I’ll be settling on — probably a blue green or just blue, but I’m really feeling the elegant living room inspiration I’ve gathered to help guide where we’re going to go with the space. What do you think? I’m working on mockups of the space now and will share those soon.
