I agonized forever over what wallpaper to use in Charlotte’s room. Right now the room is being used by Brooks because Charlotte has moved out of her crib and been sleeping in James’ room. Rather than moving the crib again, I just kept it in there and have Brooks sleeping there. There’s also a bed in there in case she ever wants to wander back. But we’re basically playing a bit of musical chairs with the rooms, and so I didn’t want to commit to something too girly in case she ends up in another room. At the same time, I feel like I have a finite amount of time where I can decorate a nursery or little girl room and before I want to move again (lolz, hope you’re not reading this honey), so I wanted to paper the room. It’s also a smaller bedroom and was just screaming for cute wallpaper to make it really pop. I went back and forth between using the Thibaut paper we used in CHarlotte’s nursery in our last home again, which arguably is slightly more gender neutral. I also really fell for a pink Sanderson paper and debated a blue Sister Paris paper. But I finally ended up settling on this blue vine Serena & Lily wallpaper after finding a bunch of roles on Facebook Marketplace for a great deal. Side note: Facebook Marketplace is a treasure trove of wallpaper and designer goods if you’re patient and always searching.

The paper is blue and white, so even though Charlotte loves pink, I felt like it would more easily translate into a boys’ nursery for Brooks right now and I am using pink linens on Charlotte’s bed, so she’s getting some of her favorite hue still. I am so thrilled with how the paper turned out. Andrew thinks it feels pretty feminine, and he’s not wrong, but the vine pattern is great for a boys’ nursery too. I think if I stuck to blues for the window treatments or just a simple white, it could really go either way. I love how it really makes the room feel special and works with the white bed and crib we have. I need to rearrange the furniture now, and figure out window treatments and a rug, but for now, I’m loving how this space is starting to look. I wanted to share an update so you can follow along a bit more on our home decorating journey. I also know a lot of you are thinking about using this Serena and Lily wallpaper, so I thought I’d be helpful to see it IRL and read about it. Bonus: Our wallpaper installer said it’s one of his favorite papers to work with because it’s such great quality, and he works with a lot of high-end papers so there’s that.
Anyway, let me know what you think and suggestions for window treatments and rugs please!
