Okay, so we’re officially two months into the new year, and it’s time to get serious about our goals. I have completely dropped the ball on my New Year’s resolutions to be honest, but I don’t think I’m alone. I see so many people posting about how they felt really unmotivated at the start of the year and felt bad about not setting goals or breaking their resolutions so quickly. I totally feel that. It was a chaotic start to the year. Things were so busy. We are all still exhausted from 2022 and really, the past few years. We’re still adjusting to post-pandemic life and finding our new balance and normal. It’s all so much. The economy and world are uncertain and the news feels like a nonstop dumpster fire. It’s totally okay to just be surviving. Let’s give ourselves some grace: Surviving is thriving these days. Many of us are also in a truly exhausting and depleting season of life — figuring out careers, young kids, futures, all of it. But spring is now on the horizon and I’m feeling the push to get back on track. I hate feeling chaotic and disorganized and like I’m not on top of everything. I think I will need to learn to live with this, because that’s probably what motherhood is, but I want to try to get my life back on track this spring and get into a better routine, so I’m back at the goals thing with my March 2023 monthly goals.
I don’t think I did so well with my February goals, so I’m going to try to be both more realistic and more ambitious with my March 2023 monthly goals. I want to set myself up for success, but I also want to get shit done and start moving towards my larger goals. My hope is that by the end of 2023 my life looks different… in the best way. I want it to look like the dream vision I have for it, so I need to start making steps to get there. I’m starting to believe in manifestation, but I also firmly believe that you need to actively make your dreams a reality. Some of them (like living in another country with my family) are harder to work towards right now (we just moved, would have to be the right career opportunity etc.), but others are totally viable, like growing my TikTok (please follow me there!) and hitting a big milestone on Instagram (shameless plug: help please!) and getting our house organized for spring.
If you’re looking to get back on track too, please join me in setting some goals and sharing them this month. Even though sharing them does feel very personal, which is outside my comfort zone if I’m being honest, I think it’s such a good way to organize our ambitions and hold ourselves accountable. Here are my March 2023 monthly goals.
Post Twice Daily to TikTok: I have been pretty consistent about posting once a day, but I really want to get better about posting more frequently, which is what this app calls for. I want to start building a community on TikTok but I know I need to show up more and test out more content types there. The trouble is when I go to post, I end up getting sucked into what everyone else is doing and spending way too much time going down the rabbit hole.
Plan Content in Advance and Batch Shoot: I really need to get better about planning out my social content and batch shooting, editing and scheduling it. The way I’m haphazardly doing it is not productive with my time and I am always so much more on top of things when I plan it all out in advance, like I do the blog. I am going to work on an edit calendar for both the blog and social this week.
Shoot and Share More Interiors Content: I am sharing a lot more interior/home content on the blog and after getting a really positive response on social, I want to share more there too. Let me know what you want to see!
Spend More Dedicated Time Having Fun with the Kids: Winter break really showed me how much I need to make time to play and enjoy the kids and focus on them. I want to plan more adventures (since play isn’t necessarily my thing) and invest more time into them and just enjoying them and each other both during the week and especially on weekends.
Get Better Sleep: It feels like one step forward and one step back with sleep with Brooks, but I am noticing how much it impacts my moods, so I’m going to work on getting him through his once a night wakeup and really getting back on track. I also need to start going to bed earlier, full stop.
Wake Up Early to Workout Before the Kids Get Up: This has been a big goal of mine and helps me to feel so much more in control of my day and I dropped the ball on it. I am going to start getting up every day before the kids to get my workout out of the way. I think it’ll be easier now that the sun is coming up earlier.
Regular Manis: This is trivial but I feel so much better about life and so much more in control when my nails look nice, so I’m going to work on making regular manis a little me time treat that I do more. I hate waiting for them to get painted and dry but I love having them look nice, so I think I need to figure out how to make this ritual productive or enjoyable.
Update Posts for Blog SEO: I would like to really work on my blog’s SEO. I want to upgrade my SEO system and update old posts that aren’t optimized correctly or at all. I think if I do a few posts a day, I can be done by end of month.
Plan Brooks Birthday: My baby is going to be one and we’re doing a Peter Rabbit theme. Putting it all together feels bittersweet but one of the most fun and important March 2023 monthly goals.
Plan 4 date nights: We’ve fallen off the wagon on date nights, so I’m going to try to squeeze in four, whether they’re solo or with other couples. We have a couples getaway planned so that should make it easy to hit four. : )
Plan Anniversary Celebration: It’s my birthday, Brooks’ birthday and our anniversary in March, so a lot to celebrate. I want to think of a special way to celebrate our anniversary, whether it’s a trip or a fun dinner/outing because we’ve not been able to do much these past few years with Covid and Brooks’ arrival a few days before.
FInalize Summer Plans: I want to have the kids’ camp schedules mapped out and a trip for us as well. I am thinking of taking the family away for a month this summer. Thoughts? Where should we go?
Finish Charlotte’s Room and the Kids’ Bathrooms: I finally got the wallpaper for their rooms, so I’m excited to finalize those rooms or at least get them one step closer. I just need to book the installation and figure out the rest of the design.
Start Phase 1 of Primary Bedroom Design: We’re eventually going to do something bigger with this space, but in the meantime, I’d like it to feel more like an inviting space and have some furniture and bedding, so that’s on my list this month.
Make Headways on Larger Home Projects: We still need to get our countertops for the kitchen, work on powder room fixtures and tweaks, get some new fixtures for the house and work out our basement and in-law suite plans. I’d like to start getting some of these plans finalized.
Try a Few New Dinners for the Kids: I feel like our dinner game has been weak lately. I want to introduce 3 new easy to make dishes as part of my March 2023 goals. Seems easier than learning to cook, ya know?
Start new IG Live Franchise: I have a new idea for content I want to cover and I’m looking forward to launching this new IG Live series this month. More to come…
