I love springtime in the Northeast but it’s still pretty cold around here until May or even June. In fact, starting the mornings off with some frost on the ground isn’t that out of the norm in March and April. While our friends down south and on the west coast may be gearing up to run around in sundresses, we’re still layering here. Or at least I am because I can’t stand to be cold. And coat weather isn’t usually over until April. But at a certain point, I can’t do the puffers and wool coats and shearling anymore, and they start to look a bit ridiculous anyway. So investing in some good spring jackets is a must if you live somewhere that spring slowly creeps in.
Spring coats, however, are actually pretty tricky to find. It often feels like there are two options — rain coats and trench coats. These coats certainly work and are closet staples but they won’t work in all situations. I find sometimes I want a really cute jacket to layer over jeans and a tee or sweater, or I want something that will work with my pretty spring dresses and the trench length isn’t cutting it. I’ve gotten so many requests for spring jackets so I know I’m not alone in this quest. It’s funny how it’s pretty easy to find cute fall coats, but somehow clothing brands forget about spring. I did a lot of digging and rounded up my favorite spring jackets for every occasion and price point.
