I simply cannot believe it’s May already. And almost mid-May! I meant to have this post done at the beginning of the month, but it’s been such a whirlwind. I feel like after Mother’s Day, it’s a fast track to…
Everything We’re Registering for Baby #2
I found registering for our first baby really overwhelming. There were so many options for every type of baby gear, and I had a hard time figuring out what was the best and safest and what we really needed. (If…
April 2019 Wish List
I’m finally shopping for spring and I couldn’t be more excited. There are so many cute things in stores now that I can’t wait to wear. Actually, it was really hard to narrow down my April 2019 wish list, but…
5 Pieces Every Mom Needs in Her Closet
I often get asked for my mom wardrobe essentials – the tried and true items that I can wear to chase around our son and dog and still feel presentable for a play date, playground run-in, or lunch meeting. Even though I love shopping, I work in fashion and live for pretty dresses, you might be surprised to know that I actually don’t have that many clothes in my closet. I try to invest in quality basics that I can wear over and over again, especially now that I’m a mom. Frankly, I just don’t have time to think about what I’m going to wear and I need pieces that are versatile, comfy and yet look put-together. These are the wardrobe staples that as a mom I rely on and wear almost every day.
February Wish List
Unfortunately, with the way retail works these days, it’s the time of year when you have to shop your closet because no one is selling sweaters, coats, boots anymore and while there are some great sales on winter gear, it’s never available in the size you need. Still, I am in need of a winter wardrobe refresh, not summer clothes. So I’ve put together a practical February wish list of items that I want now to refresh my winter wardrobe that I know I’ll wear again next year and a few spring-ish finds that I can wear now and then later when it warms up.
The Best $5 Lip Balm for Dry Lips
If you get dry, chapped lips in the winter and are constantly applying Chapstick, Kiehl’s or whatever lip balm that doesn’t really work, I am about to change your life. I never had super dry lips until I went on Accutane. (I will write a whole post on that another time, because it was honestly the best thing I ever did and I can’t believe I spent my whole teenage life with acne and didn’t go on it sooner, but that’s another day.) In any event, my lips did get dry as a side effect, and it was horrible. Just the feeling of dry, chapped, peel-y lips is the worst. When my amazing but fancy dermo, who is really the best, but caters to the Park Avenue crowd, said she had a secret weapon to combat my dry lips, I got nervous that it was going to be a pricey balm. And honestly, I would have paid anything at that point for a lip balm that actually worked on dry lips. But then she told me to go to Amazon and order a few tubes of Dr. Dan’s Corti-balm.

Cutest Winter Clothes for Toddler Boys (AKA Everything I’m Buying James Rn)
It quickly skipped from fall to winter-like temps here, and I’m realizing that James’ wardrobe consists mostly of shorts and T-shirts. Despite an Indian summer that has lasted into October, it feels like cooler temps are officially here to stay…

All The Baby Gear You Need to Survive the Winter
One of the reasons we’ve been contemplating moving to California (besides all the reasons that California is amazing) is the weather. I’ve always thought of myself as someone who loves four seasons but honestly, with a baby and a dog,…
