Somehow I am the mom to a three year old girl (where does the time go?!). Yes, my sweet baby Charlotte is tured three at the end of August (cue all the tears). I don’t know how she’s growing up so fast. (But seriously, time slow down!) Some days I still see my little baby and other days, I start to see a little girl. I guess that’s what three really is. It’s also the hardest age in my opinion. I know people say the Terrible Twos, but I find three to be so much harder. They’re trying to be independent and become their own people, and want to do whatever you tell them not to, but at the same time, they’re unable to handle their big feelings and everything makes them loose it. But it’s also such a special age, where you get to watch their personalities develop, watch them learn so many fun things, and delight in the world around them. Third birthdays are always special because it’s the end really of the baby stage and the start of a preschooler. It’s also the first time they really understand what birthdays and Christmas mean and will (probably) remember it. Since Charlotte’s first couple birthdays and holidays were spent in the height of the pandemic and pretty low-key affairs, we’re hoping to make this one a bit more special, and I’m looking forward to celebrating. And since she’s my first girl, I’m starting to look for three year old girl gifts that we can surprise her with this year. But we’re also shopping for her peers, since we’re constantly going to birthday parties these days.
