We just got back from a long weekend in Maine, Kennebunkport, Maine to be specific, and it was such a fun time. We had been to a different part of Maine years ago with James for a wedding, but this was our first time to Kennebunkport, and we loved it. It’s about a 4-4.5 hour drive from Connecticut, so totally doable with kids. With our little kids, four hours is about the absolute limit we can handle in the car and it was pushing it a bit, but we made it and I will share some tips on how to survive a road trip with babies and toddlers. But timing it right is key. We stayed at a super family-friendly resort called the Nonantum Resort and it’s a really great place to go with kids. They have a kids camp that they run daily with activities that run from arts and crafts and sports to crabbing and cookie decorating, and it’s truly a game-changer. I’m doing a full recap on our stay and the area, but in the meantime, I wanted to share my Maine outfits aka what I wore on our summer vacation in Maine.
As you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore on our summer vacation in Maine, I really embraced the all American New England vibe with my Maine outfits. There were stripes and lots of blue and white, classic outfits. It was also pretty much the last weekend of summer for us, as my kids (well, James) start school, so I also wanted to milk up the last of the summer outfits. Now, it’s all about the fall boots and sweaters but really not because it’s hot until October here. But it will feel weird to be wearing crisp white dresses without touches of fall in September, so I fully embraced it this weekend.
Here’s what I wore on our summer vacation in Maine aka my Maine outfits.
