We just got back from the most magical week in Italy. We booked a somewhat impromptu trip to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, and I am so glad we did. We knew we wanted to go to Capri and the Amalfi Coast for our ten year anniversary, but we had planned to go in summer when it’s the most popular time to go and the weather tends to be the nicest. But when childcare and work schedules aligned, we decided to just go for it in April. I am so glad we did. We lucked out with summer-like weather the entire time, and we had such a special time together in such a magical place. I highly recommend booking the trip and taking it. It’s amazing how much time away together matters, and it can be easy to forget in the grind of raising kids and building careers and all the things (not to mention, it’s no easy feat to pull off) to make that time, but it’s so important and worth it. Now, back to why you’re here — outfits for Italy. As I said, the weather was really warm – 70s and 80s – while we were there, so my round up of what I wore in Italy will work as inspo for any upcoming summer trips as well as springtime and early fall. With that said, it was cool at night, so I went with lots of layers when packing for Italy.
We tried to pack lightly as we did a lot of traveling around, so I tried to keep it pared down to what could fit in a single carry-on (yes, I somehow did that!). But also, I love getting dressed and well, it’s my job as well, right? When it came to my outfits for Italy, I stuck with lots of sundresses and flat for all the walking we did. Then I packed some light cardigans and jackets to layer on top. Crossbody bags and clutches and small straw totes were the only accessories I really brought besides my everyday jewelry. Here’s what I wore in Italy.
