We just got back from a week-long vacation to Antigua with my husband’s whole family. We went to celebrate my father-in-law’s 80th (!!) birthday, and had such an amazing time. I hadn’t been to the island since before kids and never with Andrew, so it was really fun to go explore with our whole family. It’s one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean and was a really special place to celebrate a milestone birthday for my father in law. Everyone had such a great time, and it was such a great trip to break up the summer. I truly feel like we got away and relaxed (as much as one can on a trip with kids) and got to really enjoy ourselves and family. I know some of you have Caribbean vacations planned, either for this summer or coming up this fall or spring, so I thought I’d put together some ideas and inspiration for what to wear in Antigua. This roundup is essentially serving as my What I Wore This Week post. I mean really, it’s what I wore this (last) week but in Antigua.
While it was certainly hot there, it wasn’t that much different than here. The humidity was stronger and the sun was more intense for sure and we did get some mild sunburns/pinkness, but it’s been in the upper 80s and 90s here, so it didn’t feel oppressive by any means. It’s also nice being on the water and a resort with a pool etc., so you aren’t just baking in the sun. But the heat and all the family activities meant multiple outfit changes a day. I generally wore one thing to breakfast in the morning (which was at one of the resort’s restaurants) and then would change into something for the morning activity (tennis, pool, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, etc.) and then into pool and coverup for pool time and lunch and then maybe a bit of beach time. And then I’d put on something nicer for dinner every night. I’m working on a recap of our trip, but in the meantime, here’s what to wear in Antigua aka what I wore on our week-long vacation on Antigua.
