Hello, from my scatter brain. Apologies in advance if this post feels a bit all over the place, but we are in full-on packing mode here. We move at the end of the month and will be staying with my in-laws for a few weeks before heading on vacation. We are putting most of our belongings in storage so I’ve been sorting and packing and figuring out what needs to come with us and what we’ll store. It’s been a lot, especially with the kids running around. Never move with a newborn, and yet I’ve now done it three times, so clearly I don’t learn or take my own advice. We’ve also had so much going on beyond packing. And as a result, I’ve been a little bit behind on the blog here. So as you’ll see in my round up of what I wore the third week of July 2022, I actually got my looks out of order, and some of the Here’s what I wore the third week of July 2022.
After a fabulous week at the lake, adjusting back to real life has been tough, and I still feel like I’m playing catch up. The kids were off of camp last week, so when we got back, I was in full mom mode and got hardly anything done. So this week I had to really focus on packing and work and all the things you try to squeeze in while the kids were back in camp. I sort of feel like the week was a blur tbh, but I was able to throw together what I wore the third week of July 2022 just in time. I do want to warn you that soon all my clothes may be packed away, so either expect a simple capsule wardrobe for August (which might be kind of fun – maybe I should try it?) or for me to just give up and throw some money at the problem and do some middle of the night shopping during feeds. Probably should do the capsule considering we will be finding a new home to furnish, decorate, renovate… god only knows (more on that soon I promise).
As you may have noticed, I am really leaning into classic patterns this summer. Not sure why, but stripes and gingham have been on heavy rotation. I’m also going heavy on the dresses, which is no surprise to anyone who has been following along here for awhile. I am also realizing that so many of my outfits are blue and white these days — it’s my favorite color combo and apparently, my current summer vibe. My style is evolving these days, so who knows what fall will bring now that I’ve cleared out so much of my closet. But right now, I’m sort of dressing differently each day as you may have noticed. I don’t know if I’m subconsciously trying to keep you on your toes, but honestly, it’s probably my personality. I feel like I get really into a style for awhile and then find myself totally over it and onto a new vibe. I do the same thing with decorating, which frankly, is costly, so I’m trying to hone in on what it is that I continuously come back to and love. For me, it’s probably dresses and these days, shorts with elastic waists lol. I should probably do a post on this because I think it’d be helpful for me and maybe for those of you who feel like style chameleons too but are also looking to find consistency to make it easier to build a lasting wardrobe. But that will have to wait for another day. My kids are pulling on me and ready to start the weekend. Not sure how I got onto this crazy tangent anyway, but here’s what I wore the second week of July 2022.
