Thanksgiving may be over but frankly, I am still recovering. I still feelgross and bloated and overly tired from all the activities and festivities and turkey and pie. When I feel this way, I just want to wear sweats and curl up on the couch with my laptop. BUT I have children and a job and a blog and well, the holidays are now officially here with a million bajillion events and activities and things to do. Sooooo… that isn’t an option and I guess adulthood or motherhood is just pushing through when you feel like you couldn’t possibly go on… and then pushing on some more? But my trick for these days/weeks is to dress in cute clothes albeit cute clothes that aren’t too restricting or that will make me feel any worse. It’s the whole “act as if” model. So you’ll see in my roundup of what I wore the last week of November 2022, I’m really leaning into pretty prints (distracts from tired eyes and bloated bellies and allows you to eat all the things on Thanksgiving) and simple monochromatic dressing (easy to throw no but looks instantly elegant and chic). Even if I’m going to wear leggings or sweats, I go for something coordinated and cute so that it feels put-together and I don’t look how I may feel, which just tends to make things worse. I’m also feeling like we have another week or two where we can get away with bare legs and more fall attire before it’s boots and parkas season and all good outfits are hidden beneath layers and snow-friendly accessories. Have I depressed you yet?
Now I’m going to snap out of my Debbie Downer mode and get ready for a fun-filled weekend of activities, sports, gingerbread house making, and getting our Christmas tree and all the dcor. Love the holidays (jk, I’m actually super excited for all of it). Happy weekend friends. Here’s what I wore the last week of November 2022.
