If you follow me on Insta, you probably know that our Thanksgiving plans got completely derailed due to sickness. When does it end, right? Honestly, with three kids and everything from RSV and Covid to Pink Eye going around, it feels like we just can’t catch a break, right? I keep reading about how moms are at their limit as we try to navigate an already precarious childcare situation and work with kids being out sick nonstop. It’s impossible. I keep blaming myself for feeling so overwhelmed, and it’s hard for me to remind myself that it feels impossible because it is impossible. This time of year is crazy enough without all the bugs going around. BUT this we all know, and I have to say, even though we had plans to have a big family Thanksgiving, which we haven’t done in years, and it was Brooks’ first, we ended up having a really special time. It was our first Thanksgiving, patched together in our new home in our PJs and I loved it. I have never cherished our kiddos or our home that we’re creating quite so much and I think the kids really loved all the family time too. Honestly, we didn’t do anything that special this weekend, and we still had a great time and made some great memories, and it was that reminder I needed that we don’t have to go to every holiday event and activity and show. Sometimes just having dance parties and making dinner and watching a movie at home are enough. But after a crazy long weekend of too much food and no down time without the kids, I had a big week of things to get done for work this week. Unfortunately, that also got somewhat derailed by sick childcare. But we cobbled it together, I didn’t sleep much, and here we are at the weekend. I am going to try to power through today and then get as much sleep as I can because we have a big weekend — tons of activities, a birthday party, a holiday gala, and lots of hockey. But first, I’ve managed to pull together what I wore the first week of December 2022.
I’m actually pretty proud of my consistency with these outfit roundups. It’s actually really time-consuming to put these together, but I think (hope?) they’re helpful. My thought here is that it’ll help you navigate dressing for everything you have going on each season and get some inspo at the least. But let me know what’s helpful for you guys. Trying to do more fashion tips and outfit ideas on the ‘gram as well, so let me know what you think. Just here to serve. As you’ll see, this week was filled with comfort. Honestly, it’s all I could pull together in the chaos of trying to work and care for the kids and cobble together childcare. But it’s also almost winter and the days of getting dressed in cute outfits is soon to be over.
Here’s what I wore the first week of December 2022.
