Today is Brooks’ first birthday(!!!) and I’m feeling all kinds of emotional about it. On the one hand, I’m loving watching him grow and learn and do all the things. I have so much more of an appreciation for each milestone this time around, and I’m savoring everything with him so much more. With James, we didn’t know when milestones were happening in a way and I was honestly just trying to survive as a working mom who was in the office five days a week and trying to learn how to be a mom. With Charlotte, we were adjusting to having more than one kid, renovating our first home, and oh yeah, navigating a global pandemic and lockdowns, so while I think I savored the baby phase a bit more, it also felt like this crazy blur. This time, I’m just enjoying watching Brooks develop and learn so much. But I’m also crying at every milestone because it’s going by way too fast, and I want him to stay a baby forever. We actually have a jam-packed weekend, celebrating Brooks, but also there’s Bingo Night at James’ school, kids’ birthday parties, hockey practice, swim lessons, a fundraiser at Charlotte’s preschool and a million other things I’m forgetting, so it’s sort of going to be an exhausting chaotic weekend. So I’m going to get to what I wore the third week of March 2023 and then I have to run to prep for Brooks’ party and Bingo Night lol.
This week, I really leaned into sweaters and jeans as I start to crave spring with my wardrobe, and as I tire of dresses and heels. I’ve always been a dress girl, but lately, I’m thinking I may be following the spring trends and becoming more of a jeans gal. Even at the office, they often times feel more practical and I’m having fun playing with all the different pants proportions and styles these days. Now excuse me while I cry over my little baby turning one. Here’s what I wore the third week of March 2023.
