Hello, from a crazy Friday still spent recovering from Memorial Day weekend. Anyone else feel like they needed the week off to recover from the kickoff to summer? After a weekend bouncing around from the lake to our old stopping grounds, we arrived home for one last Memorial Day celebration (where I got to wear my new favorite set and suffice it to say, I’m obsessed even if my husband said I look like I belong in the 70s). And then it was full speed ahead back to work and school and camp (for Charlotte) and the millions of activities and summer countdowns. My outfits this week, as you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the first week of June 2023, were a mix of event and office appropriate getups that could be worn to school events and pickups. But the weather has been so nice, I was inspired to step it up despite my exhaustion. As I always say, a good outfit is the best way to hide dark circles. But really. Concealer can only do so much in my experience at least and I have tried them all.
Even though time is moving way to fast, I’m excited that June is here. It truly feels like summer and I’m ready. I am looking forward to making the most of these next few months and really savoring Brooks in this delicious baby phase, Charlotte as she finishes out three, and James before he gets too big and cool for me. It’s our first summer in our new home and town, and while I don’t know what to expect, I’m hoping it’ll be a truly memorable one. I also am sort of loving having no expectations or pressure other than to just enjoy and be present. Or at least that’s my goal. But now, I’m heading to a fundraiser event for my son’s school and then a weekend filled with the last spring sports practices, birthday parties, and maybe some pool, ice cream and runs through the sprinkler.
Here’s what I wore the first week of June 2023.
