What I Wore This Week (No. 157)

I’m calling this what I wore the second week of June 2023, but it’s really the first full week of June, and I do not want to be rushing us through summer aka the most wonderful time of year. It will move fast enough without me rushing it. Charlotte has now been in camp for a couple weeks but James is still powering through the end of the school year. It’s those final weeks where there are all the fun things going on and they’re on the cusp of a big change in schedule, friends, teachers and feeling it. I remember as a kid both loving and hating this tine of school year. In some ways it feels like purgatory as you can taste summer but you’re still a couple weeks away, stuck in the classroom being forced to learn when you just want to be playing outside. At the same time, you’re not ready to let go of your class and teachers and friend groups that’ll never be the same again and will bring you to the unknown of summer and next year, which is both exciting and a little scary. So I totally get why my kids are acting a little crazy right now, and I don’t blame them, especially James. I’m trying to just be supportive and take it a bit easy on them, but it’s hard when you’re also juggling all the end of year things. But we’re doing the best we can, and then summer break will be here before we know it.

This week, I was at class parties, the office, Field Day events, class parties and a couple summer events and parties, as you’ll see in my roundup of what i wore the second week of june 2023. It was a whirlwind, and a mix of outfits for the occasion, from jeans to dresses to jackets. It was also a bit cooler in the mornings, so I tried to eek the last wears out of my spring-ish clothes before it gets too hot for sleeves. Now, we’re headed into a weekend that doesn’t have a lot on the agenda for once so we’ll be taking full advantage with lots and lots of pool time, ice cream breaks, and some al fresco dinners. But first, here’s what I wore the second week of June 2023.
