We’re already midway through the month and summer is in full swing, and I’m dressing for it, as you’ll see in my roundup of what I wore the fourth week of June 2023. James started his first week of one of his three (!!) camps, Charlotte had a week off and got to spend lots of time just playing with her brother and swimming at the pool, and Brooks just kept being his jolly, cute self. Last summer, I had both kids in the same camp all summer, and it was really nice because we could figure out our schedule and routine and then it got easier as the summer went on (and that was even with a fairly new baby). But this summer, it’s more like a camp matrix. We’re still getting our bearings in our new town so the kids are in a mix of camps and activities and while it’s going to be really fun for them, we’re not going to have a great situation in terms of routine, which is hard for a working mom. It’s not the ideal way I would have planned things, as I really try to set us up in routines that make things more seamless for the whole family and eliminate stressors. But we’re still really moving into this new town and life and figuring it out, so this summer won’t be easy but I’m determined to make it fun.
For me, it was a combo of working from home and mom-ing between meetings, going into the office, and a fun night out with the hubs. My wardrobe for what I wore the fourth week of June 2023 reflects all those things and really runs the gamut from shorts and a tee thrown on for drop-off and stayed on through a busy day of work, a blazer and jeans aka my summer office uniform, and a fun dress to celebrate a good friend. Now, we’re heading into a pretty open weekend that I can’t wait to fill with some tennis, some pool, some beach, and some barbecuing.
