Well, hello May, right? Maycember I should say. There is SO much going on this month. SO much. It’s only just begun and I’m already so overwhelmed. I think I always forget what a marathon May is because I’m so focused on it finally being nicer outside and getting summer squared away. But May comes in hot with lots of events for the kids and for work and adults, so lots of reasons to get dressed, as you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the second week of May 2024.
To be honest, I don’t totally mind. Now that the weather is nicer, I’m enjoying getting dressed again and I’ll take any excuse to wear a pretty dress. The weather still is a bit baffling — cold in the morning, warm at lunch, blazing hot by the time James gets home from school, and then chilly again as soon as the sun goes down. So it’s one of those times of year when I feel like I wear ten outfits in one day and always either over- or under- dress. But I don’t mind. I will take it over snow and cold any day. And the sun and warmer temps and flowers blooming is giving me life. I feel summer on the horizon and it’s making me so happy.
This week, I had lots to get dressed for, from work events to thing at the kids schools, recitals, you name it. I leaned into dresses hard, because it was finally warm enough to wear them without tights underneath. Now it’s off to one of our favorite weekends of spring — Mayfair (a local carnival at our town) and then my parents are visiting so lots of grandparent time and then Mother’s Day. Check here for last-minute Mother’s Day gifts and here for Mother’s Day outfit ideas. And here’s what I wore the second week of May 2024.
