what I wore the first week of May 2024

Hello! After roundups of what I wore in Italy and Florida the past couple of weeks, it’s back to documenting my outfits in real life. Well, that was all somehow real life, but it feels like a dream at this point. A magical one, but a dream. Funny how that works, right? I am not complaining at all but vacations so quickly become distant memories along with the relaxed vibe and fresh perspective. I am realizing that even without a corporate job, I am still in the grind because I’m beholden to school schedules and activities. Side conversation for another day: I can’t decide if I love activities for the kids (they’re learning and busy and active adn i don’t have to entertain and gets us out of the house and something to do) or hate them (it’s always such a struggle getting there, coordinating, getting them geared up, chasing the other kids while they play or sing or dance and then I’m even more beholden to a schedule). But as I said, side convo for another day, and yes, we are back to reality and dressing for everyday life instead of for fabulous meals and theme parks (lol the dichotomy). It’s still somehow pretty chilly here on the northeast as spring goes in New England I suppose, so you’ll see I’m still trying to toe the line between springtime clothes and chilly temps in my roundup of what I wore the first week of May 2024.

It’s hard to believe that we’re already in May, partly because it’s still kind of chilly and rainy and partly because it’s been such a fast slide into summer. Charlotte gets out of school next week for the year. Yep, for the year! She’ll do a month of camp at her school, so she’s not totally done, but she’ll be on a shortened schedule, wearing swimsuits and in summer mode. And I’ll be back to fighting about sunscreen. Then it’s Memorial Day weekend and summer is officially here. it’s weird because James doesn’t get out until second week of June so that’s when I really feel like summer starts, but after Memorial Day, it kind of unofficially starts, so I guess it’s time to start dressing for it, right?
