Hello and happy Friday. I cannot believe it, but we survived our first (almost) full week back to school for James and Charlotte (and me). It was a lot. Getting everyone back on the routine, the meltdowns, the exhaustion, and then there were all the activities that started this week too. I can’t decide if diving right in is better than a slower approach. Charlotte was only half day this week (same next week) and for my sake, I would love if it were full day (well, until 1:55pm), but I think the ease in approach is better for her. The weather was warm but not super warm and I’m getting the last licks of my summer clothes and putting them away and leaning into more transitional dressing, as you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the first week of September 2024.
Gosh, it feels weird to even say September. September officially feels like fall though, so I have packed away the summer dresses and coverups. Usually, I’ll hold onto the summer fits, but I’m realizing that the warm fall days are fleeting too and then it’s cover your outfit with a jacket season, so I’m accepting it’s the end of summer and focusing on what’s ahead. This is new to me. I usually hold on way too long to summer, but maybe it’s school or that the weather is getting a bit chillier and it’s getting darker earlier. Whatever it is, I’m ready to dive into the new season and looking forward to starting to dress for fall. But this week it was a mish-mosh. Here’s what I wore the first week of September 2024.
