Alright, I’m back and trying to get back into sharing my outfits even though dressing has been a mixed bag. I had planned to show you realistic postpartum outfits to wear the first week home from the hospital but a week in the NICU derailed that. I wore mostly sweats and leggings and looked like a hot mess. I was a hot mess and frankly, I was wearing a diaper still and on the verge of a meltdown at all times, sleeping in a chair at the hospital and not really worrying about my appearance. I did shower and get dressed for the day we took our girl home though because I felt like it was an occasion to celebrate and probably my last time showering for awhile. Both have proven to be true, as you’ll see from my dry shampooed hair in my roundup of what I wore the last week of October 2024.
But I’m no longer pregnant and excited to get dressed again. I actually don’t mind dressing when pregnant and I do feel some sadness over it being my last pregnancy and having it end so abruptly. With that said, I think I really got a lot of bump styling in and now I’m ready to fit into all the fall clothes again. I’m not pushing myself postpartum to lose the weight or anything, but I am buying things a size up as needed and getting dressed as much as I can. It helps me to feel like less of a zombie when I have had no sleep. I’m mostly in two pieces to make it easy to nurse on demand, so lots of jeans and sweaters. It’s funny because I used to hate jeans, especially when tight, but I’m leaning into them postpartum even though not all will button. Here’s what I wore the last week of October 2024.
