It feels like there are always so many engagement parties in the fall, which makes given that spring and summer are some of the most popular times of year to get married. I’ve been asking you guys what you want to see on here and Instagram, and I’ve gotten quite a few requests for what to wear to a fall engagement party. I’m here to serve you, so ask and you shall receive, so I spent some time rounding up a bunch of cute options.
Unlike a wedding that usually comes with a dress code, engagement parties can run the gamut. But generally speaking, they’re usually cocktail attire, so I like to wear a dress or skirt or pants suit and heels. The only real rule though is not to wear white (basically don’t wear white to any wedding-related functions) and to dress for the setting. If it’s a backyard outdoor affair, you can go more casual (though I’d do a casual dress, not jeans because you want to mark the occasion). If it’s at a club or restaurant or fancier venue, you want to get a little more dressed up and a cocktail dress or nice suit or set (I’m so into a dressy pants and top situation at the moment) and heels is a better fit. I know fall’s almost over, but there are still some wedding festivities taking place, so here are my favorite options for what to wear to a fall engagement party.
