Well team, we are closing in one end of the year. It’s hard to believe that 2023 is coming to close tbh. It feels like it was such a whirlwind. I’m still trying to decide if life becomes more and more of a whirlwind once you get older and especially after you have kids. Or, if everyone is feeling this way as the world spins faster than ever post-Covid. I don’t know. What do you guys think? Either way, I am set on finishing my year strong and checking off the remainder of my New Year’s resolutions. I love to start my month by setting my intentions, so here are my December monthly goals.
This month I really want to focus on finishing out the year strong with my business so that I can be in a good place to kick off 2024 full speed ahead. I am firmly manifesting and believing that 2024 will be the year I achieve a new professional dream and really take this platform I have built into its next phase. It is what I’m considering my expansion year. I also want it to be my live your most wildest dreams year, which will require a lot of work to build and a lot of bravery on my part (as a somewhat risk-adverse human). But I want to finish laying the foundation for that this year. I also want to be able to really enjoy the memories and fun of the holidays with my kids. I feel like I haven’t been doing the best job of that as I try to focus on building this business that is requiring me to work 24/7 (influencer life isn’t all the glamour it seems). But I feel the pull so strongly of time and know that I need to make the most of these magical moments when they want my attention and to be with me. I’m trying to find that balance still and while it’s feeling elusive at times, I am determined to be fun and magical mom this season. Here are my December 2023 monthly goals.
Be Fun, Magical Mom: I haven’t been fun mom in awhile. I feel glimmers of her, but she’s stressed and overwhelmed by all she has to do that she’s only making the occasional appearance. I’m determined to rectify it this month even if it means less sleep or not reaching some of my professional goals, which is hard for me to accept but Im’ going to try. This really is my number 1 for my December 2023 monthly goals.
Unplug on Vacation: We are going to be going away for the holidays and skiing with family. I really want to make the most of this time and enjoy the family and take some time to unplug. To that end, I’m planning out blog content in advance for December and January and hoping to plan out some Instagram content and then allow for a lot more off the cuff posts in real time. I hope you guys don’t mind.
Hit My (Revised) EOY IG Followers Goal: I had really wanted to hit a bigger number of followers by end of the year, but I think that’s setting myself up for failure. My growth is more slow and steady than viral, which I think is fine. It means that Im’ building a really engaged community that wants to be here and I love that. But it can feel frustrating as you try to make a business out of the platform and see others growing faster. I’m going to try to focus on creating great content and connecting with all of you and hope to reach a more manageable goal to finish off the year. There is so much growth that can happen next year, right?
Come Up With a TIkTok Plan for 2024: I really need to give this platform more love. What would you like to see from me there?
Make a Substack Plan: Again, I want to create a substack that people are really interested in reading. What would you like from me there?
Figure Out Childcare for New Year: This is really important on my list of December 2023 monthly goals. I need more help with the kids if I’m going to grow my business and stay sane. I’m going to set up a situation that requires less management from me and allows me to get more done.
Plan Winter and Spring Vacations: These snuck up on me and I want to get a plan in places for some family time, hopefully, somewhere warm, or at least snowy where we can ski.
Reach LTK Goals: I love having different platforms where I can connect and provide value and content. I am having fun putting my shopping habit to good use on LTK, and I want to hit a new goal there this month.
Come Up With IG Franchises: I want to come up with some more Instagram franchises that would be helpful ways to share content and my expertise. I do what I wore this week, but what else would you want to see from me?
Ski: Yes, we’re going skiing and I want to get the babysitters in place so I can have time to hit the slopes.
Eat Better: Oh man guys, my diet has been atrocious. I’m hoping to clean that up this month even though it’s the time of parties and sweets. My goal is to focus on three balanced meals a day so I’m not just eating off the kids’ plates and snacking on junk.
Get in More Cardio: I have been slacking on exercise as well, which doesn’t bode well for the ski slopes, so I’m going to try to prioritize a little more daily exercise this month.
Address Some Health Concerns: I put off a lot of self care (like real self care) for a long time and recently finally got a long overdue root canal and reminded me to prioritize my health or nothing will work. I made an appointment for this week to address a health issue and while I dread doctors and all this, I know putting my health first is the best thing I can do for me, my family and my business.
And that’s it for my December 2023 monthly goals as we head into the new year.
