I’m often asked where I buy clothes for my kids. Honestly, I shop all over the place, and I shared my favorite sources for buying boy clothes and my favorite places to shop for girls clothes for a more extensive list. But I thought I’d share one of my favorite local brands for preppy clothes for kids — Classic Kids Prep. Even if you’re not into the preppy aesthetic, I have to say their kids’ clothes are adorable, but since the name is Classic Kids Prep we’ll go with that description. I started shopping at Classic Kids Prep years ago. I found their prints and styles to be timeless and really well made. They last more than one season so they can be passed down to the next sibling. But then my best friend moved to Connecticut and started working for them (their headquarters is in Rowayton but you can also shop them online), and now, every time I visit her for a coffee, I can’t help but scoop up some adorable pieces. (Side note: I also love their store because it’s full of cute gifts as well so if you’re in need of a baby shower or birthday gift in a pinch, they have so many cute original options. I recently got a lego snap watch for a birthday gift and now my kids want one too.) And because we know someone (thanks Auntie Ali!), Charlotte recently got to model some of their newest styles. Needless to say, she LOVED it, and I’m ready to quit my day job and become her momager. She asks me every day if she can skip school to go model lol. I have so much fun shopping for my kiddos and I know it’s a small window I have where they’ll let me pick out their clothes so I’m really soaking it up and having fun with it. James is already asking to wear hoodies and sports shorts, so I know the clock is ticking but luckily, I still have my dress-loving little girl and Brooks who has to wear whatever I put him in.
