Summer is officially here, and I don’t know if this is an end of spring thing (I think it is a phenomenon or am I making that up?), but my kids have all had crazy growth spurts. Suddenly their shorts and pants and dresses are all too short, their tops are cropped, and their toes are poking out of their shoes. So it’s definitely time to do some shopping for the warmer weather. Luckily, there are so many cute summer kids clothes right now, and lots of huge sales happening. I’m not sure what that says about the state of our economy (or maybe everything is just always on sale now), but I’m taking full advantage to get my kids outfitted in style this summer. And don’t you worry, I’m still dressing them in matching clothes every chance I get. James is starting to move into the I want to wear sports shorts and t-shirts phase, but luckily, he’s picked up golf and really into it, so I can convince him to put on a polo shirt and shorts by telling him it’s a “golf outfit”, which in fairness, it is. It’s also his dad’s uniform, so that doesn’t hurt. Soon though I fear he won’t want to match his siblings and my heart will be broken and it’ll get infinitely harder to spot them in a crowd. But we’ll worry about that problem next year.

I’ve really made it a point to invest in high quality clothes, even for summer, so they’ll actually last the entire season. But I will say for camp, I will sometimes go with more affordable finds that I don’t mind if they get destroyed or lost, which they inevitably do even with their names sewed in.
