You know when you see a dress and you just have to have it? That’s how I felt about this Tory Burch maxi dress. I didn’t have anything to wear it to but I just had to have it, and when it went on sale, I scooped it up.The thing is I don’t really have anywhere to where it, and I knew that when I bought it. It just feels too over the top for work, and I didn’t have any wedding or special occasions at the end of the summer or start of fall to wear it to. But I had to have it, so I bought it because it makes me happy, and I figure when I do need a dress when it’s warm again, I”ll wear it. Am I crazy? Have you ever bought something that you don’t need and have nowhere to wear it to but just loved it too much not to scoop it up?
I know that most people would say not to buy something if you don’t have anywhere to wear it, and I get that reasoning. I do. But I don’t necessarily subscribe to that. Listen, I am in fashion, so obviously I have a slightly different view, but I just feel like getting dressed and fashion should also be fun. It should make you feel good. YOu should want to do a dance in whatever you wear. So if a dress makes you happy and feel good and you just can’t stop thinking about it, I say go for it. You won’t regret buying it. You’ll find somewhere to wear it. You will. I didn’t have a plan for this Tory Burch maxi dress or an occasion or event for it to make its debut, but you better believe I’m thinking about where I’ll wear it next. It may be that I just wear it to dinner with Andrew, because honestly, why not? It’s beautiful and deserves to be taken out, right? I also know I’ll be happy next time I have an event pop up because I won’t need to go out and buy something – I’ll already have the perfect dress that I’ve been waiting to wear.
