We just got back from the most magical week away. We went to Rancho Santana in Nicaragua, which sounds very far away and exotic but actually is very close to Costa Rica and was such an amazing getaway. I will do a full recap because I honestly can’t recommend it enough. It was such a special and relaxing spot that is built for families and we were able to manage our kids, ages 4 months to 8 years old and still enjoy ourselves. I truly believe Nicaragua is the new Costa Rica — it has so much of the same appeal (the beaches, surfing, adventures, etc. but it’s less crowded, more affordable, and super special. The people couldn’t be nicer and the food was really good. Anyway, I’ll save it for my recap, but let me know if I can answer any questions. Needless to say, I was a huge fan and since getting dressed is half the fun of vacation (right?), I have a great recap of what I wore on our 2025 beach vacation to Rancho Santana.
The weather was warm but the wind kept it from feeling oppressive or overly humid. We did a lot of changing, from breakfast to beach to afternoon activities to dinners, but I managed to pack it all into a carry on. We had a connection so I didn’t want to check, so I chose light, airy dresses for the most part and then some shorts and swimsuits and coverups. I tried to go for pieces that could be worn multiple ways — a dress that could double as a coverup, a bathing suit that could be worn as a body suit with shorts and skirts, etc. I just love vacation dressing and the excuse to dress up for dinners and to try on different looks that aren’t as practical for my everyday mom life or for work or the cold back home right now. Here’s what I wore on our 2025 beach vacation to Rancho Santana.
