Sweater weather has officially arrived, and I’m a little sad about it. I love sweaters and jackets and we’re in that short period here in New York where you can wear flats and jeans and sweaters. In a blink of an eye, we’ll be in boots and hiding our outits under winter coats — which isn’t the end of the world but means we need to take full advantage of the chance to show off the cute closed-toe shoes and sweaters before they’re banished until next fall. I have to say I’m finding it hard to get dressed these days. It looks sunny and some days, it’s warm and then some days it’s cold. Most days it starts cold then gets pretty hot and then ends cold. It makes layers key. Trouble is most of my layers are still buried in boxes. We have made a huge dent on the home front, but without much furniture, there’s not a lot of places to put things, so we’re sort of in limbo in terms of unpacking, so I have to say, my outfits aren’t the cutest or most original. There’s a lot of repeating or finding one box filled with one genre of clothing (like striped sweaters) and just wearing those on repeat, as you’ll see in my roundup of what I wore the first week of October 2022.
I’m getting a short reprieve from the unpacking and organizing to go on a girls trip to the Bahamas this weekend. I’m so excited. I haven’t been away from the kids like… ever. Seriously. And I haven’t been on a trip with friends (sans Andrew) in well, forever. So I am seriously so excited. I’m also really terrified at the idea of leaving the kiddos, and especially Brooks, but I need this and I know in the end, the kids will be fine and I’ll come back happier. I need the rest and space to just breathe and be me for a little. But that means I’ll have lots of cute Bahamas content for you soon and some vacation outfits next week. In the meantime, here’s what I wore the first week of October 2022.
