We survived Halloween and are just maybe coming down from our sugar high. Joking but not really even. My younger self loved having Halloween on a Monday – you could party all weekend and into the week. My mom self does not. A three day sugar/party binge means an epic crash when you have littles and then an entire week of coming down from the Halloween high and trying to regulate the leftover candy consumption is not so much fun. I do not envy my children’s teachers this week, that’s for sure. But we managed to make it through and here we are at another weekend. We have a jam packed schedule of birthday parties and activities, but I’m quite happy about that — I love busy weekends where I am not solely responsible for the children’s entertainment. While recovering from Halloween overload this week (and a few too many fun size Snickers bars), I tried to keep the outfits loose and comfy but pulled together enough to hide from the bags under my eyes. You’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the first week of November 2022, I’m leaning into fall textures and colors. Maybe it’s the change of location and beautiful New England fall, but I’m really embracing the season with my wardrobe. I’m also into playing with texture right now. I love how a furry finish makes a simple striped sweater look more chic and stepped-up or velvet can make flats look so much more luxe and dress up a casual look for meetings and running around town.
Before I kick up my feet for the weekend (well, for a few minutes at least) and commence movie and pizza night (is it too soon to start watching The Grinch?), here’s what I wore the first week of November 2022.
