Well, that’s a wrap on October and Halloween, and here we are heading into the holiday season. I didn’t get to as many of my October goals as I would have liked but I’m trying to give myself grace (something I’m not great at), as we have undergone some monumental changes and it’s normal that I feel overwhelmed and behind on everything. We moved houses and states/towns, started both kids in new schools, adjusted Brooks to a new schedule, I started going back into the office with a new, longer commute, we had to work out our childcare situation and somehow amidst it all, I took my first vacation without the fam ever. It was a lot. So you’ll see a lot of holdovers from last month in my November 2022 goals and that’s totally ok.
Honestly, I don’t know that I’ll feel like I have my act together enough to set super concrete goals and to achieve them all until we’re more settled in our new home and routines and until Brooks is a bit older and sleeping more. Yes, we’re in another sleep regression and it’s killing me. I feel like my mind is always racing a million miles an hour and I have a million tabs open and al barely staying on top of all I need to get done but that could also be life with three growing kids, a dog, a house, a full time job, a side business, and an attempt (mind you I say attempt) at a social life. Anyway, here are my goals for November 2022. Let’s see what we do!
Make one trip the lake: We haven’t been since the summer and I would love to take the kids at least once this fall – it’s so pretty up there this time of year.
Finish our kitchen refresh: Our kitchen is getting a face lift and we’re underway. This month I’d like to schedule new countertops and backsplash installation to compliment the paint job we’ve done. We’re also getting some final pieces of furniture to add to the mix. I am going to wait until January to start trying to organize our kitchen mess. I’m overwhelmed just thinking about all the organizing we need to do tbh.
Book wallpaper for dining room: I know the paper I want and the look I’m going for and I want the current fugly chandelier out, so my goal for November is to book someone to do the wallpaper and to order the chandelier and get the table.
Get the Kids’ Rooms squared away: I’m still trying to figure out who will share a room and how that whole situation will pan out, but I want to get started on it this month. I actually still have Charlotte back in the crib, but I’d like to move her to a big girl bed so I’m going to order a daybed for her room (which may become the nursery) and then add a trundle to one of the twins in James’ room. Then I want to get their bedding done and add in some artwork.
Finalize Park City Plans: We’ll be in Park City for Christmas, and even though I booked ski school and ski passes awhile ago, I want to get the rest of our plans squared away. On the docket are some dinner reservations, a trip to the Heber Valley railway and a visit to Sundance.
Order Christmas cards: I have the photo. Now I just need to pick the cards and get them ordered!
Finish Family Room: We have a coffee table, people. Now we just need the sectional to arrive and we’re almost there. I’d like to get a cabinet chosen for the kids’ toys and a side table and then order a chair for the corner and find a rug. We’re so close but these final touches will make this room that I hope to spend all our time in, feel complete.
Figure Out Basement: I’d like our next project to be the basement. We need to rip up the carpet down there and then I’d like to get it painted. I want to add a TV, big couch, figure out the toy storage situation and then get an estimate on plans to add a bed and bath suite down there. It’s not our first project but I want to start budgeting for it.
Post Daily on TikTok: Trying to make TikTok happen. Please go follow me there 🙂
Tap into Pinterest more: I love it and would like to use it to grow my blog more. Trying to focus more time on it this month.
Scout more locations for photos: I want to up my photo game this year. I am going to start with backdrops and finding more around our house, neighborhood and town.
Spend more 1:1 time with the kids: I want to carve out more 1:1 time with each kid to make them feel special and loved and fill their buckets.
Look into our summer Europe trip: We’re going to Europe this summer for a friend’s wedding and I’d like to tag on Paris and maybe Italy so basically should have planned last year.
Think about spring break: It’s the last thing I want to add to my plate rn, but it’s coming in hot and my bday, brooks bday and our anniversary are all in March so despite all we have to do on the house, I’d love to go somewhere…
Figure out a good schedule: Now that we’re (somewhat) settled, I want to set us up for a more steady schedule. I want to leave for the train at the same time every morning when I go into the city, I want the kids to have a regular defined schedule for getting ready in the mornings and for their days, and I want Brooks to get into a good routine that ensures he starts sleeping through the night on the reg. Easy enough, right?
Ok that’s actually a lot of goals, and I know I have more, but I think that’s a pretty reasonable way to kick off November. As you can see, my November 2022 goals mostly center on home projects. Feeling settled in our home and with our schedule is really my number one priority as we head into the holidays. Wish us luck!
