I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and a short short week. sometimes short weeks feel so long and are actually brutal, especially coming off a fun, indulgent holiday weekend. But this week kind of flew by (and dragged on at parts too I supposed). We had lots of events and stuff at night and during the day. It was truly a jam-packed close out to Maycember. And really I feel like Maycember drags into the first couple weeks of June — really until school gets out. But this week was probably the busiest of them. In fact, I have to jump after I finish my roundup of what I wore the last week of May 2024 because it’s Field Day at James’ school and I, of course, volunteered in the five minutes of spare time I have right now.
This week, we had so much going on that I felt like I had two outfits a day, but I didn’t get a chance to really document them all. I did a lot of dresses that could take me to evening functions with a change of shoes, which is sort of my uniform for navigating the craziness that is this time of year. A pretty summer dress (especially a midi or classic shift) is great to take you from drop off to work meetings and calls or events to kids’ sports and activities to evening benefits and parties and dinners. So that’s what I’ve really leaned into these last few weeks of May and will continue to as we enter the final stretch in June. James’ school doesn’t get out until the second week of June, so I still have a bit to go. This weekend, we’re here and doing our usually spattering of sports and activities, but I’m also going to try to squeeze in a trip to Litchfield with Charlotte to hit up the Pepa London (one of my fave children’s brands) trunk shows at the Mayflower, and then Sunday we have our town’s ice cream social, which is such a sweet event and I can’t wait to take the kids again this year. Here’s what I wore the last week of May 2024.
