It’s officially September (tear) and I’m starting to accept that fall is coming. Even though James and Charlotte don’t start school for another week, Labor Day weekend really felt like the last hurrah/end of summer. We made the most of it with lots of pool and beach time, outdoor parties and dinners, and ice cream. I really need to start focusing on getting everyone ready for fall and activities are starting and even the weather is cooling off, but for some reason, I’m holding on tight. (Here are my fall shopping lists for Charlotte and James if you need to stock up on back to school clothes though.) I loved how relaxed and fun the kids were at camp. I love being able to just go to the pool and see a bunch of our friends and their kids and it suddenly feeling like a no-effort playdate we can enjoy. I miss sneaking away mid-afternoon for a tennis game, or going for a run or bike ride outside without bundling up. I miss the smell of sunscreen and wearing bathing suits all day and just the slower pace and easy excuse for an afternoon margarita. It’s not that I don’t love fall, but I’m just not ready to move onto the ease of summer and lack of rigid schedules (though my kids certainly need it). I also will miss the ease of just throwing on a dress or bathing suit and being ready for the day. dressing for summer is just so much easier. But! I have been shooting lots of great fall content, and I’m excited to inspire you with cute fall outfits, and you’ll see, I even mixed in some in in my roundup of what I wore the first week of September 2021.
I am slowly bringing jeans back into the rotation and trying to at least make a good impression for the first few weeks of school drop off. When it’s still warm in early fall, I like to mix jeans with cute, lightweight tops and flats or sandals. Sometimes I’ll throw in a dress and cardi combo as well. Here’s what I wore the first week of September 2021.
