Winter was in full force this week, and it made getting dressed less than fun. When it’s this cold, you just don’t want to leave your bed much less get dressed. With 20 degree temps, I went with layers and heavy coats but with meetings, tights and dresses also made it into the equation. Once again, black and more black reigned supreme. Here’s what I wore the last week of January 2018.
I kicked off the week with a Grammys hangover. Sadly, it’s not as sexy as it sounds, after working the Grammys Sunday night, I was in no mood to get up for work Monday morning. The all black dressed up the jeans and oversized sweater and these chelsea boots were more polished than sneakers but comfy and kept my ankles warmer. I wish I could have worn sunglasses all day to hide my bags.
Tunic sweater; Cropped flare jeans; Vince boots (old but similar here); Sunglasses
With some major meetings and an after-work event, I went with a statement dress that I knew would make me feel good. I combatted the below-20 temps by going with a longer style and layering leggings underneath and finishing off with tall boots.
Maxi dress; Black suede boots; Earrings
For another day packed with meetings, I wanted to look nice but a little more fashun, so I went with a leather mini. Since it’s freezing, I added over the knee boots and tights and warm layers on top. This look also worked well for a cocktail thing I had to pop by on my way home.
Shearling jacket; Turtleneck sweater; Leather mini skirt (old but similar here for a steal); over the knee boots; Tote
Whenever I don’t feel like getting dressed but I have stuff at work that calls for me to look put-together I wear this shirtdress. It’s easy, looks polished and these boots couldn’t be comfier making it a win.
Shirtdress (Iris & Ink old but similar here); Shearling jacket; Lace-up ankle boots
My version of casual Friday when I have to look like I somewhat tried but I just want to be in sweats. I wanted nothing more than to come home and watch Netflix and eat pizza, and just wanted something that was nice enough for a few meetings but comfy enough to feel like the weekend had started because what a long week, right?
