I tried to share my outfits in real time while we were at the lake, but as promised, I wanted to round them all up in a blog post for reference and with all the links. We went up to the lake for President’s Weekend/February break. We actually hadn’t been in forever, so it was really nice to get up there. My in-laws came for a few days too, so we got to see them and the kids love to spend time with them. We usually go up to the lake quite a bit in the summer and fall, but with everything going on and moving, we didn’t haven’t been since July 4th. I love going up there in the winter. It’s a great, cozy spot to relax in the wintertime and get away from it all. Usually, there’s skiing, sledding and even ice fishing, but the winter has been so mild, there wasn’t much snow to speak of. But we did lots of hikes, gathered firewood, went to the beach and playground, explored, and made pancakes and cozied up in front of the fire and watched movies. It was so nice to get away and get fresh air and just hang with our little family. The last time Brooks was up there, he was so little, and he really loved having a new house and place to explore. The weather was cold but sunny and then we had a couple warmer days, so it was really all over the place. I leaned into cozy, comfy winter vacation outfits.
I spent a lot of time in pajamas and sweatpants and leggings, as you’ll see. But we did venture into town for a couple meals and did some exploring so I threw on jeans a couple of times too. I tried to dress up the jeans with sweaters and upgraded versions of fleece, but honestly, the setting just makes you want to wear the coziest sweaters and tops in your closet. So I think I accomplished that mission. If you’re headed on a cold-weather vacation or even skiing, here are the winter vacation outfits I wore for our trip to the lake, which would work just as well for a ski vacation as a weekend at home.
